LAWYERS CARE DOMESTIC VIOLENCE PROJECT

                            Lawyers Care coordinates and administers the LAWYERS CARE DOMESTIC VIOLENCE PROJECT (LCDVP). This Project is specifically designed to assist low to moderate income victims of domestic violence secure long term independence from their abusers. LCDVP assists victims of domestic violence who have secured a Domestic Violence Order obtain reduced fee legal assistance in non-emergency dissolution of marriage actions. By providing this service the victim will be able to resolve long term issues of child support, visitation, division of property and debts, etc. Members of the Bowling Green-Warren County Bar Association have agreed to represent victims who are overqualified for free legal assistance by accepting their case on a reduced fee basis.

            Any resident of Warren County who has been a victim of domestic violence and has received a Domestic Violence Order through District, Circuit or Family Court may apply for assistance through the Project. In order to qualify for assistance, the applicant's gross income must be between 100% and 175% of poverty level. Applicants will be eligible for assistance once their DVO has been in place for sixty days and they have remained separated from their abuser for sixty consecutive days.
